Editor's Note

Welcome to this edition of 'Words Words Words.' If this is your first visit, than please, enjoy yourself. Take a look around, subscribe to this quarterly annual literary tribute, and refresh your mind with brilliant new literary works of art, as well as the fine resources offered to anyone interested in the literary field.

Here we are again, at the brink of winter; and the brink of a brand new year.  What a great time to check in on your accomplishments of the past year: what have you learned?  What are you ready to learn?  Now is the time to take stock of all this and prepare for a fresh start.  This is a great time to bring any unfinished business to a close; to get organized; and to maybe make a list of what you'd like to work on for the next twelve months.  Set new goals, revise old ones, and throw away ones you've grown out of.

'Words Words Words' would like to wish you the best of luck and a very happy holiday!

Of Things To Come

morning grass is white
roofs glisten like crystal
puffs of breath rise like steam
in the chill air of autumn

hardy roses tomatoes fruit trees
stand curled withered impatient
waiting for promised slumber denied

leaves once brilliant now brown
wisps of summer memories
blow hither and yon by
the brisk touch of things to come

Orion stars fall falling
streaks of brilliance sparkling
across the Comox Valley
portends of things to come

Trish Shields

It was unavoidable, my writing. I feel I had no choice in the matter, no more than I had about an unfortunate bone structure and a healthy head of hair.
